Session 1: Family Roots
This first lesson will lay important groundwork to help families understand God's original design for the family unit. They'll work through how to translate this to their own lives today. (And yes- it's more than just "be fruitful & multiply"!)
-
Session 2: The First Breakup
With that essential foundation under them, now families will turn to the first point of failure in a family: communication.
They'll build a baseline for understanding their family members and developing core practices to communicate what matters most.
-
Session 3: Family Values
In Session 3, families will begin to create the first part of the biblical framework for success: Values.
Through guided steps, families will define their core values and create the tools to make them memorable and applicable to daily life.
-
Session 4: Family Vision
The next step is for families to get insight on the direction they need to head and why that matters. They'll tackle drafting their vision statement through the lens of the multi-generational impact God desires for their family.
It's more than just vague dreams. Family vision will change their trajectory from a biblical perspective.
-
Session 5: Family Mission
It's time to round out the tools strong family foundations with the mission statement. In this session, families will take their vision and make it tangible through a mission statement that will provide guidance for daily actions.
Families will walk away with a a clear mission and the guiding behaviors to live from.
-
Session 6: Generosity as a Family
That biblical framework created in Sessions 3-5 doesn't matter if families don't put it into motion, so now we will teach families the easiest way to begin practicing those tools: generosity.
They'll learn how a lifestyle of generosity, not just money, becomes an easy way to draw family to the table and begin to put in motion what they care about most.
-
Session 7: Celebration & Journey
With this final session, families will get equipped for how to stay accountable to what they've built. They'll learn the key strategy the most successful families all use, and have space to reflect and celebrate for th next steps ahead.

Can I use this in formats besides small groups?
Yes! We've seen churches use this in a wide variety of formats and have it be successful. A few ways it has been used outside of traditional small groups:

Large group class
-
Sunday school material
-
Marriage retreat video teachings
-
Gift to major donors
-
Pre-marital coaching
-
-
How long are the teaching sessions?
The teaching videos are typically 10-12 minutes in length. The application work following videos should take no longer than 15 minutes.
-
Will this still be relevant for divorced or widowed families?
Yes! The curriculum is not contingent on 2 parents present. Any individual can walk through these concepts and still apply them to their own family. We encourage the group facilitators to be sensitive to the dynamic and suggest ways to adapt questions to be inclusive.
-
Will this still be relevant to families without children?
Yes, even without children, we still teach how to have a generational impact. It is a great starting point for newly married couples. We encourage the group facilitators to be sensitive to the dynamic and suggest ways to adapt questions to be inclusive.
-
Do I have to take training to teach the curriculum?
We provide a leader's guide and videos for support, but no official certification is required to lead this material.
