As Easter approaches, we're reminded of the profound message of resurrection—of new life rising from the ashes of sin and death. The beauty of the gospel is that Jesus’ death and resurrection still are good news today, even for our families. In a season that is celebrating hope and new life, if you are struggling to see how God can bring redemption to a family situation that feels dead or too broken, there is still good news in the Easter message.
In today's world, families often find themselves struggling with various forms of brokenness. Whether it is broken relationships, unfulfilled expectations, or deep-seated wounds from the past, many families carry burdens that feel beyond repair. In the face of such brokenness, it is easy to lose hope on restoration. The reality is we are all still sinful beings, and we need a Savior.
So even in the midst of that painful reality, Easter reminds us that our story doesn't end with brokenness and despair. Jesus conquered death and rose victoriously from the grave, and so too can God breathe new life into our families. The resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead is available to us today, and we have access to it. Is there sin that needs to be confessed? Do you need to extend forgiveness? Use this Easter season to consider how you may need to live out the gospel in your own family.
As we celebrate Easter this year, let's cling to the hope of resurrection for our families. Let's fully believe that God is still in the business of redemption—that no family is too broken, no situation too hopeless for His transforming power to work miracles. Let's invite Him into the broken areas of our families and take steps of action.
1. Prayer and Surrender: Begin by surrendering your family's brokenness to God in prayer. Invite Him to intervene and bring healing and restoration where it is needed most.
2. Forgiveness and Reconciliation: Extend grace and forgiveness towards those who have hurt you. Even if the situation is not in a place where that can be articulated to the other person yet, forgiveness starts with your own heart posture. If the opportunity is there, be willing to initiate reconciliation and take steps towards rebuilding broken relationships.
3. Seek Support: Don't be afraid to seek support from trusted friends, family members, or professional counselors who can offer guidance and encouragement.

The good news of Easter is that resurrection is daily good news to our lives. We were forgiven at the Cross, but every day we can be renewed and let Christ’s redemptive work bring new life to whatever our current situation may be. Let that forgiveness and healing extend into your family. Even if you don’t see the result of it on this side of heaven, the best thing you can do is to walk in grace, living like one who has experienced God’s ultimate restoration. Maybe it is the season to open your hands and release some of the hurt you have been carrying.
May this Easter be the time where you bring whatever the broken situation is to the Cross and find the hope of resurrection. Let God transform sin and brokenness in His resurrection power.
